Emily-Rose Wills is an artist, arts professional, and cultural advocate based in Kinimathatakinta/George Town, Lutruwita/Tasmania. Her practice explores the relationship between place, memory, and identity, drawing on a long and evolving creative relationship with the coastal landscapes and communities of Northern Tasmania. She works in painting and mixed media, moving between process-led abstraction and responses to the land and sea that have shaped her.
With fifteen years of experience across the contemporary cultural sector, Emily-Rose has built a career rooted in deep regional connection and community-led thinking. She is currently Creative Producer at Junction Arts Festival, returning to the organisation more than a decade after she first worked with them. Her career spans Mona, Mona Foma, and local government arts; she previously served as Arts and Culture Officer at George Town Council, where she developed exhibitions, events, and programming that brought local stories to the fore and engaged communities across the Kinimathatakinta/George Town Municipality.
Throughout her career, Emily-Rose has maintained an active presence in the small to medium sector, sitting on the boards of organisations including Constance ARI, Music Tasmania, Stompin Youth Dance Company, and Derwent Valley Arts. This breadth of involvement has given her a wide and connected understanding of the Tasmanian arts ecology. She currently sits on the board of Sawtooth ARI and is a member of the 2026 Tasmanian Leaders Program cohort. She brings a community-connected, future-focused perspective to her work across the sector.
Her paintings and mixed media works have been exhibited across Lutruwita/Tasmania.
